MICROBLADING is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure that entails the use of several tiny needles attached to a small handheld too to embed pigment and create hair like strokes on the eyebrows. Microblading aims to enhance, reshape, and fill-in gaps for naturally-looking eyebrows. This procedure differs from traditional tattoo as the pigment is deposited into the upper part of the dermis; thus, it fades over time depending on multiple factors such as quality of pigment used, skin type (oilier skin type tends to fade and blur faster), UV exposure, skincare products especially exfoliants, and medications.

Minimal downtime. For the first session, the entire procedure may take about 2.5-3 hours. The eyebrow area will appear slightly red just right after the treatment. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Picking at the scabs is not advised as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. A follow up visit is necessary after 4-6 weeks which usually takes about 1.5-2 hours as everyone heals differently and outcome may vary. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and the pigment color and brow thickness may need to be adjusted and more strokes can be added to refine the brow look.

Consultation with the brow specialist is a MUST to evaluate your suitability for the procedure and to provide information on the healing process and aftercare. There are possible contraindications such as those who are: pregnant, breastfeeding, constantly tanning, taking medications (such as blood thinners, Accutane), with hypersensitivity to pigments, with skin conditions (psoriasis, eczema, etc), and others that may impose high risk and may affect the outcome of the treatment.
